NFL Preseason Betting Tips

July 31, 2009 - Many sports bettors don’t like betting on NFL Preseason games. Their argument is based on teams focusing on figuring out personnel and not worrying about the score. While these arguments are indeed valid, it also presents a great opportunity to win some NFL Preseason bets! Here are some valuable NFL Preseason betting tips:

First, find out which teams have new head coaches. A new coach is more likely to put emphasis on winning than a ten-year veteran, as most new coaches take over teams that had a poor record the previous season. A new coach will want to instill a “winning attitude” and make the team believe that they can compete with anybody.

Next, be sure to check how long each starting unit will pay. Sometimes you can find games where one team will play it’s starters for an entire half, while the opponent will only it’s starters for one series. This gives us a huge advantage, as every team’s first string is much better than any other team’s backups.

Another good example to look for is teams that have two or more quarterbacks competing for the starting job. These teams may leave their first-team offense on the field for both quarterbacks, allowing a better chance for a win.

Finally, every team wants to win at least once in the preseason. When teams begin 0-2 or 0-3, there’s a good chance that the players on the field will spend the extra effort to get a win.

NFL Preseason betting is different from the regular season, but when you know what to look for, there are plenty of opportunities to make some quick cash!
