MLB Action - Tempted to do the Best

Written by Frank Donavan

October 30, 2009 - MLB action is getting hotter!  The Yankees have not announced their rotation past Game 3 of the World Series, but their plan is practical. Their quest for a 27th championship has revolved around maximizing how many times their hulking ace, C. C. Sabathia, can pitch. They were smitten by how Sabathia volunteered to pitch on short rest for Milwaukee last season, and enriched him with $161 million so he could bring the same accountability to the Bronx.

Everyone on the Phillies was willing to praise Lee for his best outing in a postseason loaded with them. He has now gone 18 1/3 consecutive innings without allowing an earned run. But no one at least those with input on the matter were eager to discuss whether it was tempting to send him out Sunday night for Game 4.

Teams to Bet On This NFL Preseason

August 20, 2009 - Last week we discussed some NFL Preseason Betting Tips, basically some situations to look for when betting on the NFL Preseason. They included teams with new head coaches, quarterback battles and certain team situations. NFL Preseason Betting Tips

July 31, 2009 - Many sports bettors don’t like betting on NFL Preseason games. Their argument is based on teams focusing on figuring out personnel and not worrying about the score. While these arguments are indeed valid, it also presents a great opportunity to win some NFL Preseason bets! Here are some valuable NFL Preseason betting tips:

First, find out which teams have new head coaches. A new coach is more likely to put emphasis on winning than a ten-year veteran, as most new coaches take over teams that had a poor record the previous season. A new coach will want to instill a “winning attitude” and make the team believe that they can compete with anybody.

CONCACAF World Cup Qualifier Update

October 7, 2008 - After nearly a full month, the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying matches resume this Saturday. Halfway through the third round, we see the usual suspects sitting atop the tables. The United State, Mexico and Costa Rica can all clinch a spot in the next round with wins in their upcoming contests. The CONCACAF betting communities are all eagerly awaiting the results of the next round to see who will qualify for the World Cup!

The United States are the biggest favorite on the board, as Uncle Sam’s Army is a 10:1 favorite when they host Cuba. The island nation returns 16:1 if they upset the Americans, and +650 for a draw. Earning even a draw will be a tough order for Cuba, as US goalkeeper Tim Howard has yet to yield a goal. Cuba, meanwhile, has lost their first three matches and own a goal differential of -6.
